Position Highlights

You are a technical expert for HW Solution Design + Rollout, Virtualization and VSAN, Server, Automation.

Main responsibilities:

•   Regularly checking firmware, OS, and application patches released by the vendor
•   Installation & test of new software versions
•   Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnosing and resolving issues related to virtualization technologies, providing support for virtualized environments and applications.
•   Capacity Planning: Analysing current and future resource requirements, and planning for capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability of virtualized environments.
•   Solution design for new requirements
•   Rollout planning in collaboration with ITOC
•   Subject matter expertise for neighbouring fields of expertise (i.e., SAN, StoreOnce)
•   Gathering expertise for applications running on Linux server (i.e., NetbackUp, Artesca)
•   Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline the deployment and management of virtual machines and related infrastructure (using PHP, Python, Bash)
•   Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, including network, storage, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration of virtualization solutions into the overall IT infrastructure.
Hardware design (in collaboration with solution architects of systems attached to server)
•   Rollout planning
•   Subject matter expertise during rollouts

Main requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in virtualization engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of virtualization technologies.
•   Proficiency in virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM) and related tools.
•   Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
•   Strong scripting skills (e.g., PHP, Python, Bash) for automation and management tasks.
•   Familiarity with storage solutions and networking concepts related to virtualization.

•   Full stack automation with Ansible (iLO, OS installation using Kickstart files, application automation, ReST scripting)
•   Server, Automation, Scripting/ Programming
•   Good English language skills
•   German language will be considered a strong advantage.
