Position Highlights
The Solution Specialist - Database (SME Oracle) is accountable for the planning, building, and running of enterprise database solutions specifically for Oracle RDBMS environments. This role involves providing a technical technology strategy and roadmap, managing the solutions lifecycle, designing and architecting new solutions, and offering third-level support and problem-solving to the Operations team as needed (on-premises or in the Cloud).
Main responsibilities:
• Delivery of projects aligned with the strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Computing services domain, focusing on Oracle RDBMS.
• Coordinate and administer Oracle RDBMS installations, configurations, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Linux OS.
• Assist with the development of Oracle RDBMS deployment, support, and maintenance procedures on Linux OS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complicated issues within the server operating system, the Oracle RDBMS, applications, affiliated software, and Data Center Infrastructure environment.
• Support the 3-level escalation support as required.
• Assist with assessing and implementing vendor-supplied upgrades, patches, and virus updates related to the Oracle RDBMS environment.
• Work and partner with internal and external contractors and support personnel to ensure proper transitioning and ongoing support of operational tasks.
• Manage incidents to ensure all calls are resolved within defined SLAs and correctly allocated or escalated in line with defined escalation procedures.
Main requirements:
• 5 years of demonstrated work experience in Oracle RDBMS environments.
• Experience in regulated and process-focused computing environments preferred.
• Experience in hardware (VMware) preferred.
• Experience in migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of Oracle Licensing Management.
• Experience working with stakeholders and technology migration.
• Knowledge of firewalls for industrial applications.
• Experience migrating from RedHat to VMware
